Short CV:
Dr. Stefanos Kalogirou is a Research Associate in marine ecology and fisheries at the Institute of Marine Biological Resources and Inland Waters, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. He is currently project leader of the PLESIONIKA MANAGE, funded by the Operational Programme "Fisheries 2007-2013" Priority Axis 3 "Measures of Common Interest" Measure 3.5 "Pilot Projects" which runs till end of 2015. During the last three years has been responsible for the multibeam system on the R/V Alcyon, developing methods for combining habitat mapping with ecology.

Dr. Stefanos Kalogirou completed his doctoral degree in marine ecology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His thesis focus on how different fish species utilizes the various shallow habitats during different life stages, as for example reproduction, recruitment and foraging, and under the establishment of non-indigenous species of Indo-Pacific and Red Sea origin.
Dr. Stefanos Kalogirou was the first to quantitatively describe the fish assemblage structure of Posidonia oceanica meadows and sandy habitats in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Dr. Stefanos Kalogirou earned his Doctoral, Masters and Bachelors degree in marine ecology from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

He has contributed to 14 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter, as well as more than 20 other publications (i.e. conference proceedings, special publications, newspaper and magazine articles) and co-authored more than 10 technical reports.
